Altha Weaver, long-time member of team to lead new diversity, equality and inclusion taskforce.

Baltimore, MD –Altha Weaver has been named Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Officer for the Maryland Stadium Authority (MSA). Ms. Weaver has been employed by MSA for 14 years, most recently as Manager of Project Administration for MSA’s Capital Projects Development Group (CPDG). CPDG oversees construction projects and feasibility studies across the state, including the $1.1 billion Baltimore City Schools construction program. "We're very pleased that Ms. Weaver has agreed to take on this important role within MSA. She was the obvious choice in helping MSA continue to improve and evolve,” said Executive Director Michael Frenz.

As EEO Officer, Ms. Weaver will focus on implementing equal employment and equal access programs for MSA and its employees, and ensuring adherence to the standards set forth in the Governor’s Code of Fair Employment Practices and Office of the Statewide EEO Coordinator (https://dbm.maryland.gov/eeo/Pages/EEOHome.aspx). Her first project will be to work with Human Resources leadership to establish a diversity, equality & inclusion task force and workplan for the agency. "Sound EEO practices help ensure that employees are treated fairly and equally, which increases commitment, satisfaction, and loyalty to the employer. Having Altha focus on this body of work for MSA is critical, especially in these unprecedented times," said Jocelyn Grogan-Jones, Director of Human Resources for MSA.

Ms. Weaver earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Baltimore and a Master of Business Administration degree from Colorado Technical University, and is currently enrolled in the Master of Human Resources degree program at Bowie State University.

The MSA was established by the Maryland General Assembly in 1986 to build, manage and maintain quality facilities to retain Major League Baseball, and return the National Football League to Maryland. MSA’s mission has expanded and evolved over the past 34 years, to include sports marketing, and numerous economic studies and construction projects and programs. To date MSA has completed $3 billion of projects across the state. www.MDStad.com
